On Monday, we partnered with Style Saves, a Miami-based nonprofit that provides students with school uniforms, clothes and supplies, at its annual Martin Luther King Day celebration, held at the Fresh Creek School in Brooklyn. We donated more than 900 lbs of coats, hats, jeans and scarves for the event, set up a makeshift store in the gym and helped the kids “shop” for their favorite items.
We love a good party, and this one definitely was (came complete with a DJ and photo booth!). We can’t thank our partners at Style Saves enough for their hard work and incredible event -- it was so great to meet the kids and their families and to make real connections with the people who benefit most from what we do. Even more amazing was seeing the smiles on their faces and how happy the kids were in their new winter gear!
Check out some pictures from the event below, and don’t forget to like us on Facebook, follow us on Instagram, and join our email list to stay updated on all the ways we like to give back (hint: sometimes we even give out free stuff!).
Her favorite color was blue, and we were all too happy to deliver!
“Thank you for the best party ever and pretty clothes! I feel like a princess in my new coat.” -student from The Fresh Creek School
